Summer Programming
Izizwe Dance Studio's 2023 Summer Programming was in partnership with the YDO and the Performing Project and took place July 10th through August 12th.
Izizwe Dance Studio offers free summer programming for young children exploring dance, culture, and the performing arts. The program includes classes that focus on movement and identity; giving young children the opportunity to explore their creative side in a diverse and inclusive environment. Students will be introduced to several genres of dance including various dance techniques, African Dance, and creative movement. Additional activities include theater classes, literacy based arts activities, crafts, and performance opportunities. The Izizwe summer dance program aims to connect our students to themselves and their community while providing opportunities through the performing arts.
Izizwe also partners with the Youth Development Organization and The Performing Project to bring exceptional theatre, dance, and singing classes to over 50 Lawrence children and young adults during July and August.
